| Phase I - |
Adaptation of the Standards for Excellence® Code for the Catholic sector.

Three versions of the Standards for Excellence® Code were developed: one for dioceses, one for parishes and one for Catholic nonprofits. The Standards for Excellence® Codes are in full conformity with canon law and USCCB guidelines.

Review and approval of Standards for Excellence® Code
|
The members of the Leadership Roundtable, representing senior level executives, professionals, academics, nonprofit leaders, philanthropic foundations, national Church organizations, clergy, religious and canon lawyers, met together in June 2007 with bishop representatives to review and approve the Standards for Excellence® Codes.

Pilot Implementation of Standards for Excellence® Code
|
Nonprofits, dioceses and parishes piloted implementation of the Standards for Excellence® across the country from California to South Dakota to Connecticut.

| Phase IV - |
Publishing of Standards for Excellence® Codes
|
The Standards for Excellence Codes were published in November 2007 and are available for purchase online or by calling 202-223-8962.

| Phase V - |
Rollout of Partners in Excellence Program
|
Catholic dioceses, parishes and nonprofits are encouraged to pledge to commit to the Guiding Principles of the Standards for Excellence® and to work toward implementing the practices and principles outlined in the Standards for Excellence® Code. Partners in Excellence receive discounts on purchases of the Standards for Excellence® Code and are provided exclusive training, support and access to educational resources to assist with implementation of the Standards for Excellence®.
