Australian Bishops’ representative participates in government roundtable on charity regulationACBC.  Fr. Brian Lucas, Secretary of the Australian Bishops’ Conference contributes to government efforts to improve governance, standards, accountability and transparency in the not-for-profit sector.  The media release also provides a link to the full submission.

Integrated Computer System Standardizes Parish Administration Throughout South Korea.  UCAN.  The Catholic Church in South Korea has launched an integrated computerization system to link all parishes and standardize management of parish affairs.

August 19, 2008 -

German churches set up energy company.  Deutsche Welle.  As energy prices rise, Catholic parishes and institutions are developing creative responses.  The Leadership Roundtable is working with a number of Catholic dioceses in the US that are exploring initiatives to capitalize on available economies of scale in energy purchases and conservation.  In southern Germany the Catholic Church has joined forces with Protestant churches to launch a non-profit energy company to supply gas to parishes and charitable institutions.
